Instructions

The objective of this game is to guess a secret code, which the computer selects, in six tries or less.

This game is played by two people, the "active" player and the "passive" player. The passive player (in our case, the computer) chooses a sequence of four colored pegs from six basic colors (duplicate colors allowed of course). The active player must then guess the sequence. To aid the active player in determining this sequence. the passive player must award the active player a number of key pegs (inference pegs, represented here by a series of black and white squares), according to the following scheme:

So, for example, if the hidden code were R B Y G, and the active player's current guess were G B B P, the player should be award one black peg and one white peg.

This program also offers two options. Table of Moves will print out a summary of the moves prior to the time the command was issued, in a separate window. Start Again will reset the game. You get a maximum of six tries to guess the secret code.

As mentioned earlier, there are six colors, and the color codes are:

        R = RED         O = ORANGE      Y = YELLOW
        G = GREEN       B = BLUE        P = PURPLE

That's about all for now. By the way, this applet has been accessed times.
