While a lot of people seem to think that DOCTOR WHO got an 11 or 12 share--one person here on rec.arts.drwho said it ranked equally with ELLEN--this is not true. Perhaps the people who are reporting these ratings are reading the ratings for their own home town. As reported here earlier, DOCTOR WHO got a 5.5 rating and a 9 share. This places it 76th out of 98 network prime time programs for that week. (Actually, it's listed as 75th, but it's tied for that spot with FOX's second showing of COPS on Saturday night, which got a 5.5/10.) ABC won the ratings war for the entire night, with the exception of the 8:30-9pm slot, which was won by WINGS on NBC. For comparison, here is how DOCTOR WHO's competition fared. The number in parentheses is the ranking for the week: ABC -- Roseanne (#8) 14.7/26 8:00-8:30pm Ellen (#29) 10.8/18 8:30-9:00pm Home Improvement (#6) 15.0/24 9:00-9:30pm Coach (#10) 12.9/20 9:30-10pm NBC -- 3rd Rock From The Sun (#42) 8.8/15 8:00-8:30pm Wings (#28) 10.9/18 8:30-9:00pm Frasier (#15) 12.4/19 9:00-9:30pm Larroquette (#40) 9.5/15 9:30-10pm CBS -- Totally Animals (#67) 6.1/11 8:00-8:30pm (6.5/11 total, 8-9pm) 6.9/11 8:30-9:00pm The Stepford Husbands (#60) 6.7/10 9:00-9:30pm (7.5/12 total, 9-11pm) 7.4/12 9:30-10pm UPN -- Moesha (#86) 4.4/07 8:00-8:30pm Minor Adjustments (#90) 2.3/04 8:30-9:00pm The Paranormal Borderline (#93) 2.0/03 9:00-9:30pm (2.1/3 total, 9-10pm) 2.2/04 9:30-10pm WB -- No programming FOX -- Doctor Who (#76) 5.3/09 8:00-8:30pm (5.5/9 total, 8-10pm) 5.5/09 8:30-9:00pm 5.4/08 9:00-9:30pm 5.7/09 9:30-10pm What this all proves, of course, is that the Neilsens are completely untrustworthy and need a radical overhaul! coreY 76602.3476@compuserve.com "Y'know, if Dagwood really ate one of those sandwiches, he'd yak." --Paul D'Entremont
