Steve Gerber's Fscript TemplateThis is the excellent tool I've used to create most of the scripts you will find on this site. It's designed for Word 6.0. I'm sorry to say there hasn't been an update on it to make it compatible with newer versions of Word, but for a piece of freeware (for personal users), it's pretty darned spiffy. It's the creation of comics writer Steve Gerber. When I had problems finding it on his web site, which has also disappeared, I asked for and received permission to post it here. There are two versions of this excellent script. The first is tailored towards Word 6.x for Win95 and earlier. The second was created to take advantage of those long file names we can use with the latter updates to Win95 and Win98, with Word 7 or Word97 and beyond.
Both zip files include pretty good directions in them on installation. But in the case of SCRIPT95.ZIP, here are some additional instructions from Steve Gerber on how to get it up and running: 1.Copy SCRIPT95.DOT to your Word 97 template directory. 2.Start Word and open a new file based on the template. Word will automatically convert the template to its new format. 3.When you save your document or exit Word, the program will ask if you want to save the converted template. Answer "yes." 4.Then, you'll be asked if you want to save it as a new file. Answer "New File" and give the template a different filename. (It can be anything you want, but SCRIPT97.DOT wouldn't be totally inappropriate.)
